Díli, 12/09/2023 – The Institute of Business (IOB) held an opening ceremony for the Chinese language course, which was the responsibility of The Confucius Classroom of China in Timor-Leste, to facilitate lecturers and staff, students of IOB, and Escola Técnica Informática (ETI-Díli).

The Confucius Classroom of China in Timor-Leste is an existing training center to facilitate Timorese, especially IOB students, to communicate in Chinese. In addition, to promote cultural exchange between China and Timor-Leste and to further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.

At the ceremony, the Director of the Confucius Classroom, Prof. Zhèng Jié, stated that the Confucius Classroom is a non-profit institution that stands out for opening a window for Timorese to know Chinese culture and language, accessing scholarships, participating in competition between international universities, etc.

On the other hand, Vice Rector I, Mr. Vasio Sarmento, assured that IOB is ready to cooperate with the Confucius Classroom of China to facilitate Chinese language for students. He added that this is a great opportunity to expand knowledge and strengthen the relationship between China and Timor-Leste.
